A practicing attorney since 1980 Harvey’s practice emphasizes his understanding the intricacies of business law. He has extensive experience in the areas of business litigation, franchise law, and business torts, and is well respected for his legal abilities in those areas of law. Franchise disputes, and claims under the Business Corporation Act and Limited Liability Company Act, are central to his practice.
Local decision-making in a corporate environment is also a specialty, having served as counsel for automotive related local businesses. Harvey is also available to serve as a private arbitrator in all areas of litigation, and is certified in advanced mediation under the Michigan Court Rules.
Harvey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Michigan in 1977. He then attended Michigan State University College of Law (then Detroit College of Law), where he was an associate editor of the Law Review, and graduated cum laude.
Harvey is a member of the Master Lawyers Section of the Michigan Bar Association, and a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the Detroit Economic Club.
He is 2023-2034 Chair of the Oakland County Bar Association Business Court Committee, and past Chair of the Case Evaluation Committee.
Harvey received the high honors of being named a "Super Lawyer" in the area of Business Litigation since 2013, and has also been honored as a dBusiness "Top Lawyer" .
